There’s something special about instant photography at weddings—it slows things down just enough to make each moment feel real. For this beautiful celebration at LM Studio in Chicago, we brought our instant cameras to capture the energy, emotion, and connection that unfolded throughout the night.
Planned by the amazing team at Northwest Weddings, the day was filled with thoughtful details, laughter, and so many personal touches. Some of my favorite moments came from watching grandparents take photos with their grandkids- seeing their faces light up as the image appears on the film never gets old. Instant photos have a way of bridging generations. Guests love passing the prints around and watching them develop right in front of their eyes. It’s a shared experience that feels both nostalgic and new. It was also special giving the bride’s father a photo of him and his daughter on the dance floor in that moment.
Instant Photos Meet Modern Keepsakes
Throughout the evening, guests and I created a mix of candid snapshots and posed portraits that perfectly reflected the couple’s laid-back style. By the end of the night, we had filled a custom photo album with prints from the event—every laugh, every dance, every quiet moment captured in a way that feels honest and tangible.
One of my favorite parts of this wedding was seeing the couple’s reaction when they got to take their photo album home that same night. Instead of waiting weeks to relive their memories, they were flipping through pages of instant photos before the last song even played.
I also carefully scanned each photo from the album so the couple now has a digital backup and an online gallery to share with family and friends. It’s the best of both worlds: the warmth and texture of instant film paired with the convenience of digital sharing.
